The Power of Faith — In Yourself, and in Your Team
Apr 20, 2025
If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “It’s just easier if I do it myself,” you’re not alone.
As nurses, we’re known for our deep sense of responsibility and our desire to protect both our patients and our colleagues. But that well-meaning drive often turns into overload. We end up carrying too much — not just because we can, but because we don’t fully trust others will handle it as well as we do. Or worse, we’re afraid asking for help will burden them.
Here’s the truth we often forget:
Your teammates are just as capable, competent, and caring as you are.
When we operate from Level 6 energy — the energy of synchronicity, intuition, and connection — we begin to shift from control and self-protection to trust and collaboration. This level of energy invites us to see the bigger picture: one where we’re not the only one holding the weight, and one where letting go actually strengthens the whole.
Faith is a leadership skill.
It’s not blind hope or wishful thinking.
It’s a conscious decision to believe in others’ abilities, even when they do things differently. It’s choosing to release control, not because you don’t care — but because you care enough to empower others and sustain yourself.
Faith also means trusting yourself.
To know when it’s time to hand something off.
To know you’re still valuable, even when you’re not doing everything.
To believe that your worth is not measured by how much you carry.
When you show up with this kind of trust, you invite others to rise. You stop being the “go-to” for everything, and instead become the catalyst for a collaborative, empowered, and stress-resilient team culture.
So this week, I invite you to ask yourself:
-
Where am I taking on more than I need to?
-
Who around me is ready for more responsibility?
-
What am I afraid might happen if I let go?
Then take a breath. Tap into your intuition. And try letting go — just a little.
You might be surprised at how much lighter everyone feels.
